The time between Pentecost and Advent on the liturgical calendar is known colloquially as ‘Ordinary Time’. However, this season of the church is far from ordinary! This fall, join First Christian Church of Decatur in a study of Nehemiah and what it means to build a future together.
Our focus for Fall 2026 comes from the work of Rev. David Bowers in the book “Gone for Good? Negotiating the Coming Wave of Church Property Transition”. As FCCD continues to wrestle with our own transition, we will explore the story of Nehemiah and his mission to rebuild the walls of his ruined city. Together, we will learn what it takes to construct something new from the remains of the old, and how to form unity in the midst of chaos. Come adventure with us!
