Lent is the traditional Christian season leading up to the celebration of Easter Sunday. It is an invitation to an intentional period of reflection, prayer, and practice.
First Christian Church of Decatur’s Lenten theme this year is “Joy”. Joy is not traditionally associated with the solemn season of Lent; these are typically 40 days of fasting and sacrifice. But what if there is joy in the midst of sorrow? What if there is lightness to be found even in the darkness? And what if it is in letting go that we find our greatest freedom?
